LTC# 201-2026 TO: FROM: DATE: May 12, 2026 SUBJECT: Nurse Enhancement Initiative Behavioral Health Services 2025-26 This Letter to Commission provides an update to the Mayor and City Commission on the continued implementation of the Behavioral Health (Nurse) enhancement initiative for the 2025- 26 school year at North Beach Elementary, Miami Beach South Pointe Elementary, Miami Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8, Biscayne Beach Elementary, Treasure Island Elementary, Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School, and Miami Beach Senior High School. Key Outcomes (2025-26) •Total sessions: 2,522 (up from 1,370 in 2024-25) •Unduplicated youth served: 334 (up from 252 in 2024-25) •Participating public schools: 8 •Average sessions per student: 7.5 (compared to 5.4 in 2024-25) The initiative is supported by a partnership with neighboring municipalities, Jessie Trice Community Health System (new partner 2025-26), The Children's Trust, and the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation. Services were delivered on-site by licensed clinical social workers (see Attachment A), increasing access and reducing barriers to care.
