SUBJECT: Nurse Enhancement Initiative Behavioral Health Services 2025-26
This Letter to Commission provides an update to the Mayor and City Commission on the
continued implementation of the Behavioral Health (Nurse) enhancement initiative for the 2025-
26 school year at North Beach Elementary, Miami Beach South Pointe Elementary, Miami
Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8, Biscayne Beach Elementary, Treasure Island Elementary, Ruth K.
Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School, and Miami Beach Senior
High School.
Key Outcomes (2025-26)
•Total sessions: 2,522 (up from 1,370 in 2024-25)
•Unduplicated youth served: 334 (up from 252 in 2024-25)
•Participating public schools: 8
•Average sessions per student: 7.5 (compared to 5.4 in 2024-25)
The initiative is supported by a partnership with neighboring municipalities, Jessie Trice
Community Health System (new partner 2025-26), The Children's Trust, and the Miami Beach
Chamber Education Foundation. Services were delivered on-site by licensed clinical social
workers (see Attachment A), increasing access and reducing barriers to care. Utilization
across Miami Beach public schools reflects continued program growth and deepening
partnerships as reflected in the table below:
