NAUTILUS AREA HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION RESOLUTION
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to inform the Mayor and Commission of the resolution adopted by the Board of Directors of the Nautilus Area Homeowners Association on April 29, 2026, in support of the installation of permanent lighting at the Polo Park basketball courts and request for City Commission approval.

RESOLUTION OF THE NAUTILUS AREA HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION IN
SUPPORT OF THE INSTALLATION OF PERMANENT LIGHTING AT THE POLO
PARK BASKETBALL COURTS AND REQUEST FOR CITY COMMISSION
APPROVAL
WHEREAS,the Nautilus Area Homeowners Association ("NAHA")represents the residents of
the Nautilus neighborhood and serves as the recognized neighborhood association for the area
encompassing Polo Park;and
WHEREAS,Polo Park is a premier neighborhood park that serves families,youth,and residents
of Nautilus;and
WHEREAS,NAHA values its longstanding collaborative partnership with the City of Miami
Beach and its Department of Parks and Recreation;and
WHEREAS,NAHA's principal objectives include preserving neighborhood quality of life while
supporting thoughtful recreational enhancements that promote health,safety,and community
engagement;and
WHEREAS,the installation of permanent,properly shielded lighting at the Polo Park basketball
courts will enhance safe recreational use during early evening hours,particularly during shorter
daylight months;and
WHEREAS,NAHA has carefully evaluated potential impacts associated with extended evening
use,including light trespass,noise,security concerns,and operational oversight;and
WHEREAS,NAHA supports the installation of lighting under operational safeguards designed
to protect adjacent residences and preserve the character of the park;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1.Formal Support
The Board of Directors ofthe Nautilus Area Homeowners Association hereby formally supports
the installation of permanent lighting at the Polo Park basketball courts.
Section 2.Encouragement of Responsible Implementation
NAHA supports the City's continued commitment to thoughtful planning,proper design
standards,and effective park management in connection with this improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That NAHA respectfully urges the Mayor and City
Commission of the City of Miami Beach to approve and fund the installation ofpermanent
basketball court lighting at Polo Park.
