FOOT is nearing completion of the Project, and the construction phase is anticipated to be com pleted in June 2026. As part of the Project's staged opening, the new additional right turn lane from southbound Indian Creek Drive to westbound 41 Street is scheduled to be opened and operational beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Signal timing at the intersection will be actively moni tored and adjusted as needed over the next several weeks. FOOT has informed the City that to complete the remaining work, bridge steel plate rehabilitation is required on the 41 Street Bridge. Beginning on the night of Wednesday, May 27, 2026, extended nighttime lane closures along the 41 Street Bridge will take place to perform steel plate installation work. Lanes will be continuously closed along the 41 Street Bridge from 8:00 p.m. to 1 :00 p.m. the following day for approximately two (2) weeks. At least one (1) travel lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Per FOOT, these extended closures are required to complete the Project. During this two (2)-week period, westbound 41 Street between Collins Avenue and Indian Creek Drive will also be closed to vehicle traffic. Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control during the peak hours. In addition, the FOOT contractor has coordinated signal timing modifica tions with Miami-Dade County to help mitigate the traffic impacts of this closure. Drivers wishing to continue westbound on 41 Street from Collins Avenue will be directed to continue north along Collins Avenue to 44 Street and turn left at Indian Creek Drive to access westbound 41 Street via the new dual southbound right turn lanes. Please note this schedule may change due to weather or unexpected conditions. For more Project information, please click here. The Administration will continue coordinating with FOOT and area stakeholders, monitor traffic conditions and signal operations in real-time, and provide updates as appropriate.
