Granado, City Clerk 1J:.t c:v-OJAA,k May 27, 2026 �FAsasAoBFB5E4cF SUBJECT: Art in Public Places Committee Motions -May 26, 2026 The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to provide an update regarding motions madeduring the May 26, 2026, Art in Public Places (AiPP) Committee meeting. The Art in Public Places proposal for the 72nd Street Community Complex proposal by AtelierManferdini was shared by CMB Capital Improvement Projects Department staff members HermanFung and Lazaro Martinez presented alongside Natalia Livian from WJ Architects. This followeda presentation at the April 16, 2026, Design Review Board meeting, where the project received afavorable recommendation. The AiPP Committee was engaged to opine on the appropriatenessof the work. Motion #1: The Art in Public Places Committee motions to approve the final schematicdesign by Atelier Manferdini for the 72nd Street Community Complex. The above motion was made by Vice Chair, 0. Gustavo Plascencia, seconded by MemberSara de los Reyes, and passed unanimously. Beginning in 2020, the No Vacancy program has presented art installations across Miami Beachhotel properties during the months of November and December. The program's installationselections have historically been advised by a Selection Committee comprised of six (6)members: two (2) representatives from the Art in Public Places (AiPP) Committee, two (2)representatives from the Qultural Arts Council, and two (2) representatives from the VisitorsConvention Authority. For the 2026 presentation, one (1) additional representative from the Ai PPCommittee will join the Selection Committee. Motion #2: The Art in Public Places Committee motions to include Member Direlia Lazoas part of the No Vacancy 2026 Selection Committee, joining AiPP Chair, Colette Mello,and AiPP Vice Chair, 0. Gustavo Plascencia. The above motion was made by Vice Chair 0. Gustavo Plascencia, seconded by MemberSara de los Reyes, and passed unanimously.
