Specifically, the closure of Ocean Drive extends from 5 Street to 14 Place and will be in effect from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, July 19, 2026. Closing the roadway for this defined period provides a controlled environment that better supports the City's public/life safety objectives during a uniquely high demand period in the City. This temporary closure of Ocean Drive is consistent with City Commission Resolution No. 2026-34197, as amended and adopted on March 18, 2026, directing the Administration to close Ocean Drive to vehicular traffic from 5 Street to 14 Place from Memorial Day Weekend through the FIFA World Cup games in Miami. Throughout the permitting process, City staff worked diligently with both the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FOOT) to address all comments in connection with the required Maintenance of Traffic plan for the temporary vehicular closure of Ocean Drive. The Administration will continue to work with the Ocean Drive Association (ODA) and other area stakeholders to disseminate information to our residents, visitors, and workforce regarding the temporary closure of Ocean Drive to vehicular traffic during the FIFA World Cup games. Should you have any questions or concerns on the above, please do not hesitate to contact Transportation and Mobility Department Director Jose R. Gonzalez, P.E., at josegonzalez@miamibeachfl.gov. G
