OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK
LTC #266-2026 LETTER TO COMMISSION
TO: Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission
FROM: Rafael E. Granado, City Clerk
DATE: June 16, 2026
SUBJECT: Art in Public Places Committee Motions – June 16, 2026
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to provide an update regarding motions made during the June 16, 2026, Art in Public Places (AiPP) Committee meeting.
As part of the City of Miami Beach Artist Vendor program, applicants must undergo review with the AiPP Committee after presenting their work to Tourism & Culture staff. This review is conducted to verify the artisanal nature of the items they wish to sell. Current applicants shared a physical demonstration of the production of their works and showed finished examples for consideration at a recorded meeting. Cultural Affairs staff relayed this information along with images to the AiPP Committee.
Motion #1: The Art in Public Places Committee motions to approve the following applicants to the City of Miami Beach Artist Vendor program: Xum Fano Machin (BLPL2026-09840), Janet Figueroa (BLPL2026-09839), Mariela Ramos (BLPL2026-

The above motion was made by Member Steve Berke, seconded by Member Sara de los
Reyes, and passed unanimously.
Members in attendance: Chair Colette Mello, Vice Chair O. Gustavo Plascencia, Silvia Barisione, Steve Berke, Sara de los Reyes, Direlia Lazo, and Marcela Novella.
