Discussion: South Pointe Streetscape Plan Item discussed by Staff to the RDA 2. Amendments to Board By-Laws APPROVED 3. Presentation by the City of Miami Beach Planning Department to the Historic Preservation Board of a preliminary evaluation report with recommendations relative to the possible designation of the Flagler Memorial and Monument Island, located between the MacArthur and Venetian Causeways in Biscayne Bay, as a local historic site to be known as the Flagler Memorial and Monument Island Historic Site. Staff directed to prepare a designation report. 4. A Presentation by the City of Miami Beach Planning Department to the Historic Preservation Board of a preliminary evaluation report with recommendations relative to the possible designation of the 28th Street Pumping Station (inclusive of the obelisk and original park setting), located at 28th Street between Pinetree Drive and Sheridan Avenue, as a local historic site to be known as the Historic 28th Street Pumping Station and Obelisk. Staff directed to prepare a designation report. II. REQUESTS FOR CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS: Previously Continued Projects: 1. HPB File No. 1172, Eastern Terminus of 78th Street (East of Atlantic Way). The applicant, the City of Miami Beach, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for a beach accessway (This file is on remand from the Historic Preservation Special Master). CONTINUED : To 7/10/01 2. HPB File No. 1204, 1600 Collins Avenue/200 Lincoln Road - South Beach City Center. The applicant, Atlantic Ocean Real Estate Corp., is requesting 2 a Certificate of Appropriateness for the demolition of seven (7) existing structures in conjunction with the renovation of the remainder of the structures and construction of a new retail and hotel complex consisting of a new 138 unit, 10 story hotel with accessory retail and restaurant space, a 3-story retail structure, a parking garage and open air plaza. APPROVED 3. HPB File No. 1221, 1410 Lenox Avenue. The applicant, Menachem M. Korf, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the partial demolition and alteration of an existing single-family home, in order to construct a roof-top addition. CONTINUED: To 8/14/01 4. HPB File No. 1197, 448 - 458 Ocean Drive - Ocean Five Hotel. The applicant, Sayeh Corp., is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the relocation, alteration and partial demolition of an existing two (2) story structure, in conjunction with the construction of a six (6) story, mixed-use hotel, retail structure. APPROVED 5. HPB File No. 1218 (formerly Joint Board File No. 9607J), 1412 Ocean Drive. The applicant, Eugene Rodriguez, is a requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for revisions to previously approved plans in order to partially demolish, alter and modify an existing storefront. CONTINUED: To 7/10/01 6. HPB File No. 1224, 421 Lincoln Road - Surf Style. The applicant, Med Properties, Inc., is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the partial demolition and alteration of public interior spaces, as well as the rear facade, of an existing retail building. APPROVED Revisions to Previously Approved Plans: 1. HPB File No. 1214 (Formerly Joint Board File No. 11466J), 900 Ocean Drive - Mango's. The applicant, David Wallack, is requesting a revision to a previously issued Certificate of Appropriateness to replace the existing awning over the central patio and entrance with a glass skylight, in order to remove a condition of the Final Order pertaining to the requirement of roof- top screening devices. APPROVED New Projects: 1. HPB File No. 1227, Jefferson Avenue and 19th Street - Jefferson Avenue Street End. The applicant, The City of Miami Beach, is requesting a 3 Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction of a new street-end plan, inclusive of landscaping, pavement and a safety barrier. APPROVED 2. HPB File No. 1228, 1569 Euclid Avenue - The Belcrest Condominium. The applicant, Thad Kemp, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the renovation and alteration of an existing two (2) story residential structure inclusive of a stairtower extension and roof deck. APPROVED 3. HPB File No. 1229, 1350 Collins Avenue. The applicant, 1350 Collins Avenue, LLC, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the substantial rehabilitation, alteration and partial demolition of an existing two (2) story structure inclusive of new bridge connectors. APPROVED III. REQUESTS FOR PRELIMINARY EVALUATIONS: 1. HPB File No. 1230, 1044 Lincoln Road - The Colony Theatre. The applicant, the City of Miami Beach, is requesting a Preliminary Evaluation for the restoration and alteration of an existing theatre, inclusive of a multi-story rear addition.
