Total cases and crashes:
(January 1st to April 15th, 2026)
• A total of 71 incidents/accidents involved micromobility devices. Out of these,
o 73% involved collisions with vehicles (52)
o 51% involved bicycles (36), where at least 44% were electric (16)
o 44% involved scooters (31), where at least 94% were electric (29)
o 3% involved electric skateboards (2)
o 1% involved rollerblades (1)
o 1% involved other unrecognized micromobility devices (1)
o 3% involved children (2)
o 1% was fatal (1)
Enforcement Efforts:
(January 1st to June 16th, 2026)
Bike squad:
• The Bike Squad issued 259 micromobility-related UTCs and 759 written warnings
Park Rangers:
• Specifically focused on the Baywalk, MBPD Park Rangers issued 2,535 verbal
warnings, 87 written warnings, and 46 written citations related to Section 70-67.
