LETTER TO COMMISSION
TO: The Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission

SUBJECT: Production Industry Council Motion – July 10, 2026
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission (“LTC”) is to inform the Mayor and City Commission
of a motion passed by the Miami Beach Production Industry Council (“PIC”) during their Friday,
July 10, 2026, meeting.
At the meeting, the Council discussed a previously approved Film Incentive Grant awarded to
FilmGate to produce two independent feature films (LTC# 505-2024). FilmGate provided a project
update and revised project timeline, seeking support for the extended timeline. Staff will work to
rollover remaining grant award previously allocated for FilmGate to the following Fiscal year.
MOTION: The Council makes a motion to agree to the new timeline to allow FilmGate to take the
project until Summer of 2027.
Motion was moved by Igor Shteyrenberg and seconded by Alexander Sale Stojanovic.
Motion passed unanimously (6-0).
Members in attendance: Ms. Barbara Goicoechea (Chair), Mr. Igor Shteyrenberg, (Vice Chair),
Mr. Joshua Blaize, Ms. Natalie Burns, Mr. Sale Stojanovic, and Mr. Graham Winick.
