August 10, 2010
4:00 P.M. – Special Planning Board Meeting
I. Public Hearing
File No. 1972 – Proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendments based on the
recommendations of the 2005-2007 Evaluation and Appraisal Report. An Ordinance of
the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, amending the City’s
Comprehensive Plan to include new or revised and/or updated goals, objectives and policies
in the following elements; Future Land Use, Transportation, Housing, Infrastructure,
Conservation/Coastal Zone Management, Recreation and Open Space, Capital
Improvements, Intergovernmental and Historic Preservation; all in relation to certain items
identified in the City’s 2005-2007 Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR); and authorizing
and directing the city administration to transmit the proposed amendments to the Florida
Department of Community Affairs an any other required state and local agencies; providing
for Repealer, Severability, Codification and an Effective Date.
Motion: Beloff/Veitia. Vote: 4-1. (Stolar opposed, Frohlich and Kuperman absent).
Approve with amendments to the Transportation Element and Land Use.
II. Meetings Reminder / New Business
The regularly scheduled meeting will be held on TUESDAY, August 24, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. for
discussion of Planning issues and 3:00 for the regular agenda, unless otherwise changed in
consultation with the Chairperson depending on the length of the agenda. Please mark your
calendars and inform staff if you have a schedule conflict.
III. Adjournment
Planning Board members: Remember to save the plans and backup materials from
items that were continued or deferred; the Planning Department does not have any
additional copies.
