Gonzalez ~/~ City Manager ~ FILM FLORIDA ME~I'INGS IN MIAMI BEACH From: Subject: The City's Tourism and Cultural Development Department Office of Film and Print is pleased to serve as host and welcome the members of Film Florida to Miami Beach from July 14 until July 16. Film Florida is a collective of film commissioners, labor unions, associations and production industry personnel, which meets quarterly to market Florida as a filming destination and lobby on behalf of the state's production industry. This meeting is expected to be the largest attended of the quarterly meetings as it includes organizational elections. In addition to the meetings scheduled for Film Florida at the host hotel, The Shore Club, a series of receptions and events is planned to highlight Miami Beach. Film Florida is also hosting a luncheon sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter to honor the American Black Film Festival's organizers and filmmakers in attendance. The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau is providing busses for a tour of Miami Beach's hot spots and famous film and television locations. On Friday, July 16 from 5 to 7p.m., Film Florida and the City of Miami Beach, along with the City's Production Industry Council are hosting a reception at the Fontainebleau Hilton to honor the State Legislature for appropriating the Entertainment Industry Incentive this past session.
