Design and construction documents for the streetscape for the blocks surrounding Collins Park, the parking lot east of Collins Avenue, the Miami City Ballet building and the Regional Library have been added. Attachment No. 2 The Architect's compensation for Basic Architectural/Engineering Services for the Project shall be reduced by $200.000.00, from the original amount of $1,125,000.00, to equal $925,000.00, as a result of the deletion of the parking garage from the Project's scope. If the Owner notifies Architect within (24) twenty-four months from the date of the Agreement, that the structured parking garage, as described above, will be incorporated once again within the scope of the Project, then the Architect shall complete its services related to the parking garage in accordance with the Agreement, and particularly based upon the $200,000 cost originally estimated for the garage; accordingly, the Architect's compensation for Basic Architectural/Engineering Services shall be revised to the original fee of $1,125,000.00. The maximum amount of the Architect's compensation for Reimbursable Expenses shall be equitably adjusted at such times as the Architect is notified to proceed with its services in connection with the parking garage to reflect the additional expenses the Architect and its Consultants may be reasonably expected to incur. The Scope of Work includes: new sidewalks, curbs and gutters and associated roadway restoration for the Miami Beach Library block, the Miami Ballet block, the Collins Park block, and the Collins Avenue parking lot block; an entry plaza for the Library; street trees, tree grates, irrigation, pedestrian lighting, benches, bike racks, and trash receptacles for each of the aforementioned blocks. This proposal is based on the following assumptions: A. The Scope of Services includes: design of the sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, curbs and gutters, crosswalks, street tree pits and irrigation; selecting street trees; choosing materials; design of the entry plaza for the Library; researching manufactured options for pedestrian lighting, benches, bike racks, and trash receptacles; obtaining necessary approvals and permits, coordinating our work with appropriate city agencies and the design teams for other projects; and construction documents for the perimeter treatment for the Miami Beach Library block, the Miami Ballet block, the Collins Park block, and the Collins Avenue parking lot block. These services are additional to our basic scope of services which called for a master plan for the district and complete construction documents for the Library. B. Bidding and Construction Phase services are not included at this time; however, we anticipate submitting a proposal for our involvement in the bidding and construction phases once the anticipated construction schedule is finalized. C. The previously -proposed lighting design scope of services provided by our Lighting sub - consultant is to be replaced by a more modest scope of services to be provided by RAMSA and by our Electrical Engineering subconsultant. D. The design of the Ballet and Bass Museum Plazas is not included in this proposal. E. Neither locating standard street signage nor designing custom signage are included in this proposal. F. Stern Architects we exceed the cap for reimbursables under this contract, then the CMB Department of Planning & Zoning will increase the cap, as necessary. We anticipate a 5-6 week turnaround for the design and construction documents, (excluding the time required for approvals and requested revisions), for the Ballet sidewalks and the sidewalk in front of the Bass Museum, from the official date of approval and notice to proceed. We estimate a total of 3 months to complete the design and construction documents for the entire project. For a breakdown of the services which would be provided, see attached Scope of Services. Our fee for this scope of work is as follows: Architectural Design Work $53,200. Budget Estimating $1,680. Electrical Engineering $8,925. (in lieu of lighting consultant) Civil Engineering $8,890.
