Dear Mr. Rodriguez:
It is a pleasure to inform you that the Old City Hall in Miami Beach, Florida has been designated by the
National Trust for Historic Preservation as an Official Project of Save America's Treasures.
As an Official Project, we encourage you to use the Save America's Treasures motto and logo in your
promotion of the Old City Hall. When referring to your project as part of the program, please use the
guidelines outlined in the attached Official Style Manual.
Although becoming an Official Project does not provide direct funding, it does make you eligible to apply
for the Preservation Planning Fund. The Fund was established with a grant to the National Trust from the
1. Paul Getty Trust to provide $1,000,000 in grants towards planning for the preservation of historic sites,
buildings and districts in the United States. Grants from the planning fund will range from $10,000 to
$50,000 and must be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis by the grant recipient. Applications must be
postmarked by September 1, 1999. Grant recipients will be notified by December 31, 1999.
In addition, the National Trust will be cultivating private donations for the overall program through
o corporation, foundation and individual contacts. In the event that one of these private donors is interested
:.~ in contributing to your project, the National Trust will be responsible for dispensing the gift and will retain
o a small percentage of each contribution over $25,000 to cover operational expenses.
.- As an Qfficial Project, the National Trust has the right to use the Old City Hall in its promotion of Save
,.'J America's Treasures. To this end, we are requesting that you complete and return the attached Image
\ Release Form. The form will provide the National Trust with the approval needed to use the images you
~~rovided with the application in any publication and/or presentation materials related to Save America's
..)'reasures.
v'"
Welcome to Save America's Treasures, and best wishes for a successful project.
Sincerely,
~r
