The November 2, 2004 City of Miami Beach ballot will have candidate races, Miami-Dade County
questions, and the Miami Beach Special Election has three (3) important straw ballot questions.
The Administration has, or will be launching a number of programs to disseminate information to our
residents and encourage early voting. It should be noted that there will be two (2) early voting
locations in the City; Miami Beach City Hall and the North Shore Branch Library, 7501 Collins
Avenue, See attachment "A" for lists of locations, dates and times.
Actions taken:
1. The three straw ballot questions with touch numbers, along with early voting dates, locations, and
hours of operations are listed on the City's web page. The site also has a link to the County's
G. O. Bond ballot questions.
2. Channel 20 is displaying early voting locations, dates, and time.
3. The local media has been notified. See attachment "B", Sunday's October 10, 2004 Miami
Beach Neiqhbors.
4. Pursuant to State and City election requirements, the three ballot questions with touch numbers
have been noticed in the Miami Herald
5. The Weekly Meeting Notice will list the early voting dates and times.
Actions to be taken:
1. A newspaper notice is being designed which will list the early voting locations, dates, time, and
the early voting incentive programs listed below,
2. Developing a program to provide registered Miami Beach voters with a free ride on the
Electrowave, from any stop on the route, to and from City Hall in order to take advantage of early
voting,
3, Developing a program to provide free one-hour parking at the 1 yth Street parking garage for early
voters,
4. Parks and Recreation Department is developing a program where early voters will be given a
coupon for free admission for one (1) adult and one (1) child to an open session at either the
Flamingo Pool or the Scott Rakow Youth Center Ice Rink.
5, Miami Beach civic organizations and condominium associations will be notified of the early voting
schedule,

voting in the City of Miami Beach.
It should be noted that there will be two (2) early voting locations in the City of Miami
Beach; Miami Beach City Hall and North Shore Branch Library, 7501 Collins Avenue
(auditorium).
This information will be posted on the City's website, advertised in the Miami Herald (City of
Miami Beach Weekly Meetings Notices), and posted on Government Channel 20.

voters to avoid the lines and cast their ballots at any of 20
early voting sites which will open Oct. 18.

In an effort to encourage
more people to vote and
increasing the convenience of
voting, the county will have 20
voting sites open daily, from
Oct. 18,31. Voters can cast bal-
lots at any of the early voting
sites, regardless of their pre-
cinct.
