RESOLUTION NO. 2004-25746
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (MPO) UPGRADE THE BAY
LINK PROJECT TO A PRIORITY 1 IN THE 2025 MIAMI-DADE LONG RANGE
TRANSPORTATION PLAN; THAT THE 2005-09 TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BE AMENDED TO FUND THE PROJECT'S FINAL
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT; AND THAT THE MPO STAFF BE
AUTHORIZED TO SUBMIT A FORMAL REQUEST TO THE FEDERAL TRANSIT
ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PROJECT TO ENTER INTO PELlMINARY
ENGINEERING.
WHEREAS, the 2025 Miami-Dade Long Range Transportation Plan (L TRP) lists the
Bay Link Transportation Corridor Project as Priority 2 for construction; and
WHEREAS, at the Miami Beach Straw Ballot Election held on. November 2, 2004,
55% of the Miami Beach voters approved Question No.1, the construction of Bay Link
(the Project) in South Beach, as preliminarily planned by the Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) and endorsed by Miami Beach Resolution No. 2003-25317, dated
September 8, 2003; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the above election returns, the Miami Beach Commission
hereby requests that the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Governing Board
consider taking the following actions:
1. Upgrade the Bay Link Project to a Priority No. 1 in the 2025 Miami-Dade Long
Range Transportation Plan (LRTP);
2. Amend the 2005-09 Transportation Improvement Program to fund the Project's
Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS); and
3. Authorize the submission of a formal request to the Federal Transit
Administration for the Project to enter into Preliminary Engineering.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby request that the Miami-Dade County Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) upgrade the Bay Link Project to a Priority 1 in the 2025 Long Range
Transportation Plan; that the 2005-09 Transportation Improvement Program be
amended to fund the Project's Final Environmental Impact Statement; and that the MPO
staff be authorized to submit the formal request to the Federal Transit Administration for
the Project to enter into Preliminary Engineering.

video I provided be played in our City's channel #20. However, if you have reservations, consider
