RESOLUTION No. 97-22529
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
THE BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE
POLICE TRAINING TRUST FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR
1997/98.
WHEREAS, Section 943.25(9), Florida Statutes, entitled
"Criminal Justice Trust Fund", provides for funds to be made
available to the law enforcement agency for the implementation of
training programs; and
WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $28,000.00 are currently
available in the Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund, said funds
derived from court costs from criminal proceedings.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
and City Commission hereby adopts the FY 97/98 Police Training
Trust Fund for the City of Miami Beach in the amount of
$28,000.00.

POLICE TRAININ TRUST FUND BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 97/98
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Approve the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
Florida Statute Section 943.25(9), Criminal Justice Trust Fund,
provides for funds to be made available to the law enforcement
agency for the implementation of training programs.
The Police Training Trust Fund provides funds for the education
of police personnel at various schools, conferences, and
workshops and for the purchase of training/operational supplies
in accordance with guidelines established by the Division of
Criminal Justice Standards and Training, as provided by Florida
Statute 943.25(9) i the source of such funds being court costs
from criminal proceedings.
ANALYSIS
In accordance with Florida Statute Section 943.25(9), Criminal
Justice Trust Fund, such funds are currently available amounting
to $28,000.00, such funds being court costs from criminal
proceedings.
CONCLUSION
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission
adopt the budget for FY 97/98 for the Police Training Trust Fund
an? appropriate funding.

do hereby certify that the aforementioned proposed request for
expenditures from the City of Miami Beach Police Training Trust
Fund, for the 1997/98 fiscal year to provide funds for the
education of police personnel at various schools, conferences,
and workshops and for the purchase of training/operational
supplies is in accordance with guidelines established by the
Division of Criminal Justice Standards and Training, as provided
by Florida State Statute 943.25(13).
