A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOP-
MENT AGENCY ACCEPTING AND PRIORITIZING THE
BID PROPOSALS RECEIVED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A MARINA AND DRY STORAGE FACILITIES IN
THE SOUTH SHORE REDEVELOPMENT AREA OF MIAMI
BEACH; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO
NEGOTIATE AND HAVE EXECUTED AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE HIGHEST AND BEST PROPOSER FOR RE-
VIEW BY THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY; REQUIRING
THE LISTED PROPOSERS TO SECURE A FIRM FI-
NANCING COMMITMENT TO THE SATISFACTION OF
THE GENERAL COUNSEL AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
NOT LATER THAN FIFTEEN DAYS HEREOF; AUTHOR-
IZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE
WITH THE PROPOSERS IN ORDER LISTED SHOULD A
FINANCING COMMITMENT NOT BE SECURED BY THE
FIRST LISTED PROPOSER; DIRECTING THE EXECU-
TIVE DIRECTOR TO PROCEED WITH THE NOTICE RE-
QUIREMENTS OF FLORIDA STATUTES 163.380(3);
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO
SEND A NOTICE TO YACHTING CENTER MANAGEMENT
CORP. TERMINATING THEIR AGREEMENT WITH THE
AGENCY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF THE
LEASE.
WHEREAS, three bid proposals have been submi t ted for
the construction of a Mar ina in the South Shore Redevelopment
area; and
WHEREAS, a selection committee has thoroughly studied
the proposals and offered its recommendation to the Redevelop-
ment Agency; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency, lists the proposers
in the following priority order;
1. Carner-Mason Associates, Ltd.
2. South Shore Marina Joint Venture
3. Frank D. Tolin
and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency desires to expedite
negotiations with the first listed bidder; and
WHEREAS, the negotiations cannot be completed unless a
facilities in the South Shore Redevelopment Area of Miami Beach;
authorizing the Executive Director to negotiate and have execut-
ed an agreement with the highest and best proposer for review by
the Redevelopment Agency; requir ing the listed proposers to se-
cure a firm financing commitment to the satisfaction of the Gen-
eral Counsel and Executive Director not later than fifteen days
hereof; authorizing the Executive Director to negotiate with the
proposers in order listed should a financing commi tment not be
secured by the first listed proposer; directing the Executive
Director to proceed with the notice requirements of Florida
Statutes 163.380(3); and authorizing the Executive Director to
send a notice to Yachting Center Management Corp. terminating
their agreement with the agency in accordance with the terms of
the lease.
