A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING A
PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER PUBLIC COMMENT
REGARDING THE SALE OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 1749 JEFFERSON AVENUE, FOR THE SUM
OF $155,750, PLUS CLOSING COSTS, TO GARY
DAVENPORT, AS OWNER OF THE ADJACENT PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 1775 JEFFERSON AVENUE
WHEREAS, Gary Davenport is the owner of a residence located at 1775 Jefferson Avenue,
and has approached the City in an effort to acquire the adjacent City-owned property located at 1749
Jefferson Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Administration and City Attorney's Office are negotiating a Sale and
Purchase Agreement with Mr. Davenport; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 92-2783, which establishes procedures for the sale
and/or lease of City property, the Mayor and City Commission shall hold a public hearing advertised
not less than fifteen (15) days prior to said hearing, in order to obtain citizen input into such sale
and/or lease.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing to
consider public comment regarding the sale of City-owned property located at 1749 Jefferson
Avenue, for the sum of$155,750, plus closing costs, to Gary Davenport, as owner of the adjacent
property, located at 1775 Jefferson Avenue, is hereby called to be held before the Mayor and City
Commission in its Chambers of the Third Floor of City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami
Beach, Florida on November 17, 1999, beginning at 2:00 P.M. and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized to publish appropriate public notice of the said public hearing in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Miami Beach, at which time and place all interested parties will be heard.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Resolution.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. Gary Davenport has approached the City in an effort to acquire the subject property in order to
build a single family residence. Ordinance No. 92-2783, which establishes procedures for the sale
and/or lease of City property, requires the Mayor and City Commission to hold a public hearing,
advertised not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing, in order to obtain citizen input into the
proposed sale and/or lease.
CONCLUSION:
The Administration recommends the setting of a public hearing for the November 17, 1999 City
Commission meeting, at 2:00 P.M., regarding the sale of City-owned land at 1749 Jefferson Avenue
for $155,750 plus closing costs to Mr. Gary Davenport, owner,,~tj:le adjacent property at 1775
