BOARDWALK RENOVATION PROJECT
This letter is to inform you of the current status of the Boardwalk renovation project.
On October 7, 1999, Property Management received the first shipment of the specialty tropical
hardwood that is to be used for the resurfacing of the Boardwalk. The required fasteners for the
product have already been received and are in stock for distribution. The materials are currently
being unloaded at the Property Management yard to provide for inventory control between the City-
owned materials and the installation contractor.
The installation contractor has been informed of the delivery and a "Notice to Proceed" has been
prepared to begin work on October 13, 1999. The contractor has also been instructed to obtain all
permits required by the Building Department for the project.
Property Management staff has worked on the under deck in preparation for the installation. This
work was completed well ahead of the installation contractor to prevent any delays in the project.
Property Management also assigned a person to monitor the project daily to assure contract
compliance by the installation contractor.
With the material delivery on time and the installation contractor in place to begin the work, the
estimated early December completion of the project is currently on track.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.
