SUBJECT: UPDATE OF THE INDIAN CREEK GREENWAY - NATIONAL PARK
SERVICE GRANT
As part of the ongoing technical assistance grant from the National Parks Service Rivers, Trails and
Conservation Assistance (RTCA) Program, the community is being invited to attend a planning
workshop to help design and develop a greenway (linear park) along the historic Indian Creek
waterway. The forum will be held on Monday, November 15, 1999 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the
Hotel Fontainebleau, located at 4441 Collins Avenue, in the Fontaine Room.
The evening will begin with an open house preview of exhibits and displays with information
available from the National Park Service RTCA Program, the EDAW Summer Student Program, the
Indian Creek Association, Friends of the Indian Creek, and other City projects which demonstrate
complimentary and contiguous recreation projects.
After the open house, all present will be asked to conduct various mapping exercises by joining
several facilitated work groups. Input on types of desired recreational opportunities will be sought
as well as information on the planning and design process of the local Greenway.
