On April 5, 2005 the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved the ordinance
creating the Citizen's Advisory Committee for the oversight of the County's General
Obligation (G.O.) Bonds. The following information has been made available on the
County's website www.miamidade.Qov.
A Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) has been created by the Board of County
Commissioners to monitor the progress of the Bond Program, and provide input to the
Mayor, the Commissioners and the County Manager.
* On April 27, the Office of Capital Improvements will hold an orientation at 6:00 p.m.
on the 18th floor of the Government Center for those interested in serving on the
Citizens' Advisory Committee.
* Any Miami-Dade County residents interested in serving on the committee should
apply no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 6, 2005.

Over the next 15 years, the Building Better Communities Bond Program will fund more than
300 neighborhood and regional projects throughout Miami-Dade County. The County is
committed to citizen participation in the implementation ofthis $2.9 billion initiative--one of
the most ambitious public capital programs in Miami-Dade's history.
The 21-member committee will consist of thirteen (13) members appointed by each of the
County commissioners, five (5) members appointed by the County Manager and three (3)
members appointed by the County Mayor.

Members of the Citizens' Advisory Committee shall be residents of Miami-Dade County;
shall possess an outstanding reputation for civic pride, integrity, responsibility and business
or professional ability; and shall have no financial interest, direct or indirect, in any of the
programs or projects that are part of the bond program.
Applications for CAe membership are also available from the County's Office of Capital
Improvements located at Stephen P. Clark Building, Suite 1715 or by calling 305-375-1900.
Members of the Citizens Advisory Committee are subject to the Florida Open Records,
Government in the Sunshine and Financial Disclosure laws, the Conflict of Interest and
Code of Ethics Ordinance and the investigatory powers of the Inspector General.
