RESOLUTION No. 99-23389
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE POLICE
CONFISCATION TRUST FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999/00,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $95,150, TO BE FUNDED FROM THE
PROCEEDS OF STATE CONFISCATED FUNDS.
WHEREAS, Section 932.705, Florida Statutes, addresses the purpose and procedures to
be utilized for the appropriation and expenditures of the Police Confiscation Trust Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Miami Beach has determined that the need
for appropriation and expenditures exist and the appropriation and expenditure of forfeiture
funds is in compliance with Section 932.705, Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, such funds are available in the Police Confiscation Trust Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby adopt the First Amendment to the FY 99/00 Police Confiscation Trust Fund
Budget for the City of Miami Beach, in the amount of$95,150, as reflected in the attached
Exhibit "A".

write on/wipe off surface for use with both erasable
markers and magnetic charting accessories to organize
departmental personnel for use in the Conference Rooms
located in the Chiefs Office, Support Services and
Patrol Division. 3 each @$250.00
INDUSTRIAL STEEL SHELVING UNITS
To create updated employee shift files and to ensure
the accuracy, preservation and safekeeping of all records
of the Division
FAX MACHINE FOR THE TRAINING UNIT including
start-up supplies and one year maintenance
MISCELLANEOUS SIGNS FOR THE RCC (Front Desk)
to be placed by the public telephone, restrooms and house-
phone including installation
FILE CABINETS needed throughout the Police Department
to meet the Accreditation requirements
RENOVATIONS TO THE RECORDS UNIT of the

ANALYSIS
Florida Statute 932.705 provides for expenditure of forfeiture funds law enforcement purposes.
The Chief of Police of the City of Miami Beach has reviewed and identified the need for the
appropriation and has established that the expenditures of forfeiture funds is in compliance with
Section 932.705, Florida State Statutes. These forfeiture funds have been deposited in the Police
Confiscation Trust Fund. The City has complied with all statutory procedures involved in the
transaction of these funds.
The Administration requests authorization to adopt the First Amendment to the operating budget for
the FY 99/00 Police Confiscation Trust Fund per the attached Resolution in the amount of $95,150
from State Funds to be used to provide funds for the expenditures listed in Exhibit "A".
