Subject: SUNSET HARBOR - 1900 PURDY AVENUE
This is provided as an update to the construction and occupancy issues related to the
Sunset Harbor North Tower.
The Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) approved a 30 day extension to the Temporary
Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) for the above noted property. In their deliberation,
members of the board stated a desire to keep "pressure" on the developer. The board
acknowledged that the building is safe and that the remaining work could take as much as
120 days to complete. However, at the request of the Condominium Board, BORA
members further articulated a desire to ensure that the developer will have to pay for an
attorney to appear every/3D days and will be compelled to show progress towards the
attainment of the final Certificate of Occupancy by providing only a 30 day extension.
Acting Building Official Hamid Dolikhani was instrumental in the decision by BORA to
extend the TCO through his testimony before the Board and through his positive efforts
working with the contractor. Staff and I will continue to update you on the progress of this
project.
