Attached please find a Resolution from the Art in Public Places Committee urging the Mayor and
City Commission to approve additional public art funding in the 2005/2006 fiscal year budget of at
least $135,000. These funds would be used to fund current or proposed future works of public art.
Please be advised that the proposed 2005/2006 fiscal year capital budget already includes funding
in the amount of $135,000 for Art in Public Places.

RESOLUTION NO. (COMMITTEE RESOLUTION - No Number Assigned)
A RESOLUTION OF THE ART IN PUBLIC PLACES (AIPP) COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE MAYOR
AND CITY COMMISSION TO ADOPT AND APPROVE AN ADDITIONAL
LINE ITEM IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH'S ANNUAL PROPOSED
BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2005/06, IN THE MINIMUM AMOUNT
OF $135,000, TO BE APPROPRIATED TOWARD THE AIPP FUND.
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City's Art in Public Places legislation to
enhance the aesthetic environment of the City by including works of art on public
property within the City and in City construction projects; and
WHEREAS, the Art in Public Places (AIPP) Committee was established
pursuant to Section 82-561 of the Miami Beach City Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is recommending the inclusion of a line item
in the proposed City of Miami Beach Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2005/06, in the
estimated amount of a minimum of $135,000, to be appropriated toward the
AiPP Fund, and
WHEREAS, the AIPP Committee concurs with the City Manager's
proposed FY 2005/06 Budget recommendation, and would hereby strongly urge
the Mayor and City Commission to adopt and approve same during the course of
its regular FY 2005/06 City Budget review process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE ART IN PUBLIC
PLACES COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the
Committee hereby urges the Mayor and City Commission to adopt and approve
the City Manager's recommended line item in the proposed City of Miami
Beach's Annual Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2005/06, in the minimum amount of
$135,000, to be appropriated toward the AiPP Fund.
