RESOLUTION NO. 2000-23444
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A CHANGE
ORDER, IN THE AMOUNT OF $14,832.50, TO A TC
ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A
TANK SUMP AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM AT THE
MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER, THE JACKIE
GLEASON THEATER OF THE PERFORMING ARTS, AND
THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No. 43-98/99, the Mayor and City Commission approved
the award ofa contract with ATC Associates, Inc., for fuel storage system retrofitting on
April 14, 1999; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation and standing order was established for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM) requires
the installation of a tank sump and leak detection system at the Miami Beach Convention
Center, the Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts, and the Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, the approval of this Change Order in the amount of $14,832.50, will allow
the contractor to complete this Project; and
WHEREAS, funding for this Change Order is available in the appropriated Convention
Center Development Bond Account No. 414-2196-069358 and Environmental Capital
Projects Account No. 351-2066-069358.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and
City Commission approve the issuance ofa Change Order, in the amount of$14,832.50,
to A TC Associates, Inc., for the installation of a tank sump and leak detection system at
the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts
and the Miami Beach Police Department.

ANALYSIS
On April 14, 1999, the City Commission awarded Bid No. 43-98/99 (Commission Memorandum
No. 261-99) to ATC Associates, Inc., for Fuel Storage System Retrofitting. The purpose of this
Change Order is to complete additional work required by the Department of Environmental
Resources Management (DERM). The contractor is to supply and install a tank sump, a leak
detection system with a sensor probe within the tank sump, and a leak detection console for the
underground fuel storage tanks located at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Theater for the
Performing Arts (TOP A) and the Miami Beach Police Department.

A TC Associates, Inc. will furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary to complete this
additional work. Prior to commencement of the work, the contractor will revise the permit drawings
to reflect the additional work and resubmit to DERM for approval.
The contractor will complete the additional work within ninety (90) calendar days from the issuance
of the Change Order.
