"ETHICS AND THE MEDIA- Finding the Balance between What's Right
and the Public's Right to Know" Conference
The purpose of this LTC is to inform you of a one-day conference for government officials
and public relations professionals sponsored by the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics, The
Miami Herald, FIodda International University and the Society for Professional Journalists-
South Flodda Chapter.
The conference is scheduled to be held October 28, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the
Kovens Conference Center at Florida international University, 3000 Northeast 151 Street,
North Miami, Florida. Workshop topics include: Protecting Your Sources: Should joumalists
always keep a secret?; Spin Control: Public officials who shade the truth; Going Undercover.
Do the ends justify the means?, and Serving Two Masters: Joumalists who moonlight.
The registration fee is $50 including breakfast, lunch and a panel discussion on Public
Officials, the Right to Pdvacy and the Public's Right to Know.
