The City requests that CH2M Hill execute the contract with their sub and continue moving the project forward as quickly as possible. Please advise if CH2M Hill is agreeable to doing so. Also, would you please ask Rick and Phil to propose a recovery schedule for this task as related to your correspondence of April 1, 2005. As you know this is an urgent matter and I need ASAP. Thanks, HKM -----Original Message----- From: Saltrick, Richard [mailto:rsaltrick@hazenandsawyer.com] Sent: Monday, April 18, 2005 5:54 PM To: Rick.0Ison@CH2M.com Cc: Phillip.Langley@CH2M.com; Mizell, Keith Subject: RE: Normandy Shores Test Well Rick, 07/12/2005 The City is quite concerned about the schedule for the entire Normandy Shores project. As we discussed, there are coordination issues with the Avanti development that are time sensitive. In addition, the City Commission is beginning to question the slow pace of all the ROW projects, and one Commission candidate is especially interested in yours. We are going to need to become very conscious of the schedule. With this in mind, we need you to do everything possible to keep this project moving. As you are aware, it takes the City time to process a contract amendment, even if the cost is only $500. It does not seem likely that we would be able to add $500 to your contract without further delaying the work. Therefore, please reconsider executing your contract with Jaffer. Please give me a call in the morning so that we can discuss the schedule for this work and the overall project. Thanks, Rick From: Rick.Olson@CH2M.com [mailto:Rick.0Ison@CH2M.com] Sent: Monday, April 18, 2005 5:34 PM To: Saltrick, Richard Cc: Phillip.Langley@CH2M.com Subject: Normandy Shores Test Well Rick, Attached is the revised scope of work provided by Jaffer Associates on April 18, 2005. Mr. Gene Friedlander stated that Jaffer was forced to raise prices for this service from $12,750 to $13,250 due to increased fuel costs. The original scope of work and fee estimate was provided by Jaffer on January 4, 2005, and was valid for 10 days. As a result, they could not hold their price to the point where we received authorization from the City (March 23, 2005). In an attempt to expedite this work, CH2M HILL will continue to move forward with the contracting requirements. This will entail gathering insurance certificates and safety plans from the subcontractor and preparing the contract document. However, CH2M HILL can not execute the contract until notification is provided by the City that our amendment will be increased by $500 to cover the increased subcontractor expense. Please let me know when we can expect some form of authorization. In regards to the schedule outlined in your April 1, 2005 letter, I discussed this with Phil briefly and confirmed the dates that you had provided. Unfortunately, we are unable to call you this evening and will do so tomorrow. Rick Olson 07/12/2005 HAzEN AND SAWYER Environmental Engineers & Scientists Hazen and Sawyer.
