A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
CANCELLING, PURSUANT TO DIRECTIVE OF THE
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ELECTIONS DEPARTMENT,
EARLY VOTING FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH'S
NOVEMBER 15, 2005 GENERAL ELECTION AND
NOVEMBER 29, 2005 RUN-OFF ELECTION.
WHEREAS, as a result of the rescheduling of the City of Miami Beach's General Election
and Run-Off Election occurring pursuant to Florida Governor Jeb Bush's Executive Order 05-219
and declaration of "Elections Emergency" in Miami-Dade County, the Miami-Dade County
Supervisor of Elections has cancelled early voting for said elections, due to the inability to properly
conduct early voting sites for the expedited elections schedule; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 38-6 of the Miami Beach City Code, the early voting
schedule previously authorized for the City's General and Run-OffElection is hereby cancelled in
accordance with directive of the Miami-Dade County Elections Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that early voting is hereby
cancelled for the City of Miami Beach's November 15, 2005 General Election and November 29,
2005 Run-Off Election. ,,'~ A
