A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF TWO
SEGWAY HUMAN TRANSPORTERS, AT A VALUE OF $4575 EACH FOR A
TOTAL OF $9150 FROM MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, TO BE UTILIZED FOR
HIGH PROFILE PATROL.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Police Department's primary mission is the
prevention of crime and to ensure public safety in the City of Miami Beach through high
profile patrol and community oriented policing; and
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County Commissioners Sally Heyman of District 4
and Bruno Barreiro of District 5 have recommended that Miami-Dade County donate two
Segway Human Transporters, at a value of $4575 each, for a total of $9150, to the City
for use by the Miami Beach Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the transporters will be utilized for high visibility patrol to enhance
community policing primarily in commercial areas in the City of Miami Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the
Mayor and City Commission hereby accept the donation of two Segway Human
Transporters for a total value of $9150 from Miami-Dade County to be utilized by the
Miami Beach Police Department for high visibility patro \

Miami-Dade County Commissioners Sally Heyman of District 4 and Bruno Barreiro of District 5 have
graciously agreed to donate two Segway Human Transporters on behalf of Miami-Dade County to the
Miami Beach Police Department. The Transporters have a value of $4,575 for a total of $9,150. The
Transporters will be utilized for high visibility patrol to enhance community policing primarily in commercial
areas in the City of Miami Beach.

Miami-Dade County Commissioners Sally Heyman of District 4 and Bruno Barreiro
District 5 have graciously agreed to donate two Segway Human Transporters to the
Miami Beach Police Department. The Transporters have a value of $4575 for a total of
$9150. The Transporters will be utilized for high visibility patrol to enhance community
policing primarily in commercial areas of Miami Beach.
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission adopt the
Resolution and accept the donation to the Miami Beach Police Department.
