Gonzalez, City Manager i i.\:r-~ June 2, 2006 C; 0 TO: DATE: SUBJECT: 2006 ASSESSMENT ROLL ESTIMATE As required by Florida Statue, the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser advised us that the 2006 Assessment Roll Estimate for the City of Miami Beach is $22,730,000,000. The preliminary estimate is for budget planning purposes only. The official assessment will be released on June 30, 2006. The estimate represents an increase of 30.3% over the 2005 preliminary assessment of $17,445,766,574. At the time, the estimate does not provide break-out of new construction of the Redevelopment District. Florida Statutes. which states: "The property Appraiser shall deliver to the presiding officer of each taxing authority within the County, June 115/, an estimate of the total assessed value of non.ex9mpt property for the current year for budget planning purposes. II The Certifioation of Taxable Value (Form DR-420) will be delivered to all taxing authorities on June 30th. Receipt of these values on July 1s1 initiates the statutory budget and millage calendar. The month of June is the most active and concentrated period at the end of the assessment cycle in terms of preparing the assessment roll for completion by July 111.
