SUBJECT: Selection Committee - RFP #91-99/00 Leasing and Management of the Retail
Component of the Anchor Shops and Parking Garage
Pursuant to the authorization of the Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Board on March 15, 2000, the
Administration has issued RFP #91-99/00 for the leasing and management of the retail component
of the Anchor Shops and Parking Garage. Notices were issued to approximately seventy local and
national property management/leasing firms, identified through organizations including but not
limited to, the Miami Beach Chamber Commerce, the Building Owners and Managers Association
(BOMA) and the Regional Council of Shopping Centers (RCSC). Notices were also posted on the
Internet through the Procurement Department.
Based upon the schedule in the RFP, proposals are due on May 18,2000, with the evaluation and
short-listing of the proposals scheduled for the first week in June. The short-listing and ranking of
proposals will be accomplished by a Selection Committee, to which I intend to appoint the
following individuals:
Linda Polanski -
Patrick Busteed -
Robert Datorre -
Christina M. Cuervo -
Kevin Crowder -
Alexandra Rolandelli -
Property owner, Clay Hotel
Project Manager, Loews Hotel
Miami Beach Development Corp.
Assistant City Manager
Economic Development Director
Redevelopment Coordinator
Kent Bonde will coordinate the Selection Committee process.
Please let me know by the close of business on May 8, 2000, if you have any suggested changes
or comments regarding the Committee members.
Ranking criteria will include, but not be limited to, the proposers' prior experience in leasing and
managing retail facilities, the capability and relevant experience of key staff assigned to the
management of the facility, the quality and extent of services to be provided and the proposed
management fee structure. It is anticipated that a final recommendation as to the ranking of the
firms, will be presented to the RDA Board at the Commission/RDA Board meeting on July 12,
2000.
