SUBJECT: Requests From Commissioners Concerning Pressure Cleaning Issues
As part of the discussions on the February 23, 2000 Commission Meeting, concerning Item C2C
Commission Memorandum No. 144-00, specific requests were made by Commissioners for the
extension of routes and additional pressure cleaning in problematic areas. The following measures
have been implemented in response to the requests:
1)
Property Management has extended the pressure cleaning routes to include the sidewalks
between 16th Street and the Loews Hotel. This will include the areas around the parking
garage and the Anchor shops. This section will now be routinely cleaned on the 7-10 day
cycle that is provided for the surrounding areas.
2)
The area near the bus shelter at 16th Street and Washington Avenue, although already
regularly cleaned on a 7-10 day cycle, will be enhanced. Property Management has assigned '
an ove~ap of cleaning for the Washington Avenue and the Lincoln Road pressure cleaning
crews that will provide for the area to be cleaned a minimum of 3 times per week.
3)
In addition to the areas outlined by the Commissioners, Property Management pressure
cleaners have identified the area of 1Th Street and Collins Avenue, in front of the Burger King
restaurant, as also being very problematic. The routes of the pressure cleaning crews have
also been altered to provide for a minimum of 3 times a week for pressure cleaning for this
area.
