SUBJECT: RESOLUTION FROM THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
Attached, please find a copy of a resolution adopted by the Historic Preservation Board at their April
11, 2000 meeting. This Resolution was passed by the Board because of their concern with the
maintenance and condition of the existing structures at the site of the new Regional Library.
The Historic Preservation Board would like to see all structures located within the City's historic
districts, which are owned by the City, fully secured and sealed.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board is charged by
Ordinance as serving in an advisory capacity to the City Commission and other City
Boards on issues affecting the City's architecture, design, historic districts and
structures; and
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Board is concerned with the maintenance
of City owned and operated vacant buildings throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Board deems it advisable that all vacant
structures within the City's designated historic districts should be fully secured and
sealed in order to protect the unique architectural and historic character of the City;
and
THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the Historic Preservation Board urges the
City to abide by its own property maintenance standards and to secure all buildings
which are currently not being cared for and are a public nuisance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 11 th DAY OF APRIL, 2000.
