Please join us at these fun filled events and activities offered by your Parks and Recreation
Department.
The Recreation Expo will kick-off the fall 2006 athletic league season on Saturday, August
26'h, at the North Shore Park & Youth Center from 1-4 p.m. This twice-a-year event gives
parents a convenient means of registering their children for the upcoming season's play in
Intramural soccer & flag football, traveling soccer & baseball, primers basketball clinics and
3 on 3 basketball (ages 11-1S). It also offers a fun day of rides and games for the whole
family.
Movie in the Park begins its' new fall series featuring the movie "X-Men: The Last Stand".
This movie will be shown on Friday, SeptemberS'h, at the North Shore Park & Youth Center
at S p.m. This family oriented event will begin at 6 p.m. with rides, games, costume
characters and free popcorn. Refreshments are available for sale. Bring your lawn chairs or
blanket and enjoy the show! Movie rated PG13.
Line Dancing - Flamingo Park Pool is hosting a fun family event for everyone. Grab your
dancing shoes on Friday, August 25th, from 6-S p.m. at the pool promenade. Don't miss out
on the fun. This event is free.
Hispanic Heritage Festival- The North Shore Park Youth Center will be celebrating
Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, October 13th, at 7 p.m. Enjoy traditional Latin foods,
salsa and merengue contest, music, performances and much more.
