A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ACCEPT
REIMBURSEMENT OF ALL SALARY, BENEFITS AND OVERTIME COSTS
FOR ONE POLICE OFFICER OF THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE
DEPARTMENT FROM THE SOUTH FLORIDA INTERAGENCY
METROPOLITAN ANTI-CRIME TASK FORCE FOR THE PERIOD
BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,1996 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,1997.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Police Department participates with other Federal, StatE! a 1d
Local law enforcement agencies in the Federally funded South Florida Interager cy
Metropolitan Anti-Crime Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Police Department has assigned one Police Officer to
participate in the Anti-Crime Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, the full salary, benefits and overtime costs of the Police Officer w II ::>e
reimbursed to the City by the South Florida Interagency Metropolitan Anti-Crime Tcsk
Force; and
WHEREAS, due to the nature of the investigative work involved, overtime costs cannJt ::>e
estimated but the actual costs of all overtime will be fully reimbursed to the City fer t 1e
period beginning October 1, 1996 and ending September 3D, 1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND GITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that City is authorizl3d to
receive reimbursement of the salary, benefits and overtime costs for the Miami Bee ch
Police Department Police Officer who is assigned to the South Florida Interager cy
Metropolitan Anti-Crime Task Force for the period beginning October 1, 1996 and endi 19
September 30, 1997.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Miami Beach Police Department participates with other Federal, State and Local La"
Enforcement agencies in the Federally funded South Florida Interagency Metropolitan Anti.
Crime Task Force. The Miami Beach Police Department has assigned one Police OfficeI' t<
the Task Force.
The Task Force will reimburse the City the full salary and benefits of the Police Officer forltht
period beginning October 1, 1996 and ending September 30, 1997. In addition, the Task Forc(
will reimburse the City any and all overtime costs incurred by the Police Officer in I:ht
performance of his duties. Due to the nature of the investigative work performed, the amount'
of overtime expenses is unknown, however, the city will be fully reimbursed for any and alii
overtime costs.
CONCLUSION
The citizens and the City will benefit from the participation of a member of the Miami Beacb
Police Department in the South Florida Interagency Metropolitan Anti-Crime Task Forcf all
no expense to the City.
