RESOLUTION NO. 2006-26384
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
THE CERTIFICATE OF THE RESULTS OF THE
NOVEMBER 21, 2006 SPECIAL RUN-OFF ELECTION FOR
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, ADJOURNING THE
CANVASSING BOARD FOR SAID SPECIAL RUN-OFF
ELECTION, AND DECLARING CANDIDATE ELECTED.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Canvassing Board was properly designated by the Miami
Beach City Commission to act as the City's Canvassing Board representatives regarding the conduct
of the November 21,2006 Special Run-Off Election for the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Matti Bower, Judge Shelley J. Kravitz, and City Clerk Robert
Parcher, serving as the Miami Beach Canvassing Board, were present at the tabulation ofthe returns
of the Special Run-Off Election as duly conducted by the Elections Department of Miami-Dade
County; and
WHEREAS, the results of the November 21, 2006 Special Run-Off Election have been
certified; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Special Run-Off Election, candidates for City Commissioner
of the City of Miami Beach, Group V have received the number of votes cast as reflected more
specifically within the Certification of Election attached hereto as Composite "A" and incorporated
herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that having canvassed the
returns ofthe November 21,2006 Special Run-Off Election of the City of Miami Beach, it hereby
adopts the certificate as to the results of said Special Run-Off Election and it is hereby ordered that
the Certificate of Elections and this Resolution be recorded in the minutes of the meeting as a

permanent record of the results of said Election; be it further resolved that by adoption of this
Resolution, the City Commission-appointed Committee acting as Canvassing Board for the City of
Miami Beach November 21,2006 Special Run-Off Election has discharged its duties for said Special
Run-Off Election and said Committee is hereby adjourned; and be it further resolved that as a result
ofthe City of Miami Beach November 7,2006 Special Election and the November 21,2006 Special
Run-Off Election the following candidate for City Commissioner Group V is hereby declared
elected: Michael Gongora

CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SPECIAL RUN-OFF ELECTION, ADJOURNING
CANVASSING BOARD, AND DECLARING CANDIDATE ELECTED
The attached Resolution adopts the Certificate of results ofthe City of Miami Beach's November 21,
2006 Special Run-Off Election, adjourns the City of Miami Beach Canvassing Board for said Special
Run-Off Election and declares candidate elected.
Passage ofthis Resolution effectively concludes City Commission action relative to the November
21, 2006 Special Run-Off Election.
