Item Summary/Recommendation: On November 25, 2003, Resolution 2003-25396 awarded a contract in the amount of $321, 173.76, for "Concrete Restoration and Repairs" to Florida Lemark Corporation initiating a series of upgrades in the facility, including waterproofing and full concrete restoration. Since then, through the Capital Budget, repairs and upgrades have been performed to improve the facility that include: striping, painting, new post tension cables on the second floor, new electrical light poles on the roof parking deck, and electrical upgrades on the fourth and fifth floors. The proposed electrical work includes upgrades in the first three levels of the garage. Currently, the garage experiences voltage fluctuations that trip the fuses of the newly installed light poles on the roof. This results in additional maintenance service calls to replace the pole mounted fuses. In addition, several ceiling mounted light fixtures are filled with water creating a hazardous condition in the facility. This project will also benefit the City by reducing the electrical charges since it adds control timers and/or photocells to the light fixtures which currently do not have them.
