RESOLUTION NO. 2007-26485
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO MIAMI-
DADE COUNTY FOR A PORTION OF CITY PROPERTY AT THE
INTERSECTION OF DADE BOULEVARD AND PURDY AVENUE,
REQUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SIGNALS,
POLES, CONTROLLERS, DETECTOR LOOPS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT
FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALIZATION.
WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has requested that the City grant the County an
easement, in a portion of City owned property located at Dade Boulevard and Purdy
Avenue, to install a traffic signal; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration would recommend that the Mayor and City
Commission approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute and deliver to the
County the attached Non-Exclusive Easement, in favor of Miami-Dade County, for the
purpose of constructing and maintaining the traffic signalization equipment at the
intersection of Dade Boulevard and Purdy Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a Non-
Exclusive Easement, in favor of Miami-Dade County, for a portion of City property at the
intersection of Dade Boulevard and Purdy Avenue, for the installation and maintenance of
signals, poles, controllers, detector loops and related equipment for the purpose of traffic
signalization.

Item Summary/Recommendation:
Miami-Dade County has requested an easement in land owned by the City of Miami Beach, as
described in the Exhibit A, for purposes of constructing and maintaining traffic signals and the ancillary
control systems off of the public sidewalks. The location proposed is in a portion of Lot 1, Block 15 of
Island View in the northwest corner of Dade Boulevard and Purdy Avenue (see Exhibit A).
The City of Miami Beach Public Works Department requested from Miami-Oade County Public Works
Department the placement of the traffic signal at the intersection of Dade Blvd.and Purdy Ave. to
make intersection safer for pedestrians and motorists. The mast arm and other signal facilities were
placed outside of the existing right-of-way to avoid conflict with fiber optic communication cables and
the existing sidewalk. The signalization of the intersection is completed.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution.
ANALYSIS
Miami-Dade County has requested an easement on land owned by the City of Miami Beach,
as described in the Exhibit A, for purposes of constructing and maintaining traffic signals and
ancillary control systems located off of the public sidewalks. The location is proposed in a
portion of Lot 1, Block 15 of Island View in the northwest corner of Dade Boulevard and
Purdy Avenue (see Exhibit A).
CONCLUSION
The City of Miami Beach Public Works Department requested from Miami-Dade County
