A RESOLUTION OF THE MA VOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RA TIFVING
THE NOMINATION OF HELEN KOHEN TO THE
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER TRUST.
WHEREAS, on November 12, 1996, the Performing Arts Center Trust (PACT)
urlallimously approved recommending candidates for the City of Miami Beach's selection
01 t"vo at-large appointments to the Board of the PACT, to be selected from two slates of
ccmdidates; and
WHEREAS, the nomination process involved public advertisement and proactive
re cruitment by the PACT; and
WHEREAS, 35 nominations were received, which provided a diverse representation
o' the City's community; and
WHEREAS, on September 25, 1996, the Mayor and City Commission
re commended Stanley H. Arkin's reappointment to the PACT, as well as the appointment
O' T"udy Cejas; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Cejas declined her appointment; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Commission thereupon recommended the
a >pointment of Helen Kohen to the PACT; and
WHEREAS, the appointments will carry three (3) year terms, which will expire on
D~c9mber31, 1999.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BV THE MA VOR AND CITY COMMISSION
o iF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission herein
rc tify the nomination of Helen Kohen to the Performing Arts Center Trust.

On J\ovember 12, 1996, The Performing Arts Center Trust unanimously approved recommending

re,:rultment by the PACT. It resulted in the submission of 35 nominations, providing an authentic
re >resentation of the diversity of our community.
OJ 1 S;:ptember 25, 1996, the City Commission recommended Mr. Stanley H. Arkin and Ms. Trudy
Ct j~ to be appointed to The Performing Arts Center Trust. The appointments will carry three year
