Dear Chief Delucca,
On behalf of the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of Grants and Training (G&1), I
am pleased to inform you that your application submitted under the fiscal year (FY) 2006 Commercial
Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP) has been approved. Through CEDAP, your agency
will receive the T ACSIGHT S 1 Thermal Imager for Law Enforcement.
CEDAP provides emergency response agencies with the equipment and technology they need to fulfill
their homeland security mission. It is an important component of a larger, coordinated effort to
strengthen our Nation's overall preparedness baseline. CEDAP's primary focus is to enhance
regional response capabilities, mutual aid, and interoperable communications in jurisdictions ineligible
to receive assistance under the DHS Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI).
G&T administers CEDAP in coordination with the U.S. Army Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) at
Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, which serves as our technical agent. Shortly following this official notification,
you will receive a letter from EPG providing initial information regarding the mandatory training session
required when receiving CEDAP equipment and instructions for beginning the CEDAP award
process.
Congratulations on your selection for this FY 06 CEDAP award. If you have any questions or
concerns regarding the CEDAP award process, please call G&T's Centralized Scheduling and
Information Desk (CSID) Help Line at 1-800-368-6498.
