A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING A
PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER PUBLIC COMMENT
REGARDING THE SALE OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 1749 JEFFERSON AVENUE, FOR THE SUM
OF $155,750 PLUS CLOSING COSTS, TO GARY
DAVENPORT, AS OWNER OF THE ADJACENT PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 1775 JEFFERSON AVENUE.
WHEREAS, Gary Davenport is the owner of a residence located at 1775 Jefferson A venw:,
and has approached the City in an effort to acquire the adjacent City-owned property located at ] 749
Jefferson Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Administration and City Attorney's Office are currently negotiating a
Purchase and Sale Agreement with Mr. Davenport; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 92-2783, which establishes procedures for the sa] e
and/or lease of City property, the Mayor and City Commission shall hold a public hearing advertise:l
not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing, in order to obtain citizen input into such sa] e
and/or lease.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITl
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
A public hearing to consider public comment regarding the sale of City-owned propert (
located at 1749 Jefferson Avenue, for the sum of $155,750 plus closing costs, to Gary Davenpor ,
as owner of the adjacent property located at 1775 Jefferson Avenue, is hereby called to be hell
before the Mayor and City Commission in its Chambers of the Third Floor of City Hall, 170)

Approve the setting ofa public hearing for the February 19, 1997 Commission meeting, at 2:00 p.m.,
for the sale ofland at 1749 Jefferson Avenue for $155,750 plus closing costs to Mr. Gary Davenpc'rt,
owner of the adjacent property at 1775 Jefferson Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. Gary Davenport has approached the City in an effort to acquire the subject property in order to
build an extension to his private residence. Ordinance No. 92-2783, which establishes procedures
for the sale and/or lease of City property, requires the Mayor and City Commission to hold a pub lic
hearing, advertised not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing, in order to obtain citizen input
into the proposed sale and/or lease.
CONCLUSION:
The City Administration recommends that a public hearing be set for the sale of the aforemention;:d
property to Mr. Gary Davenport for $155,750 plus closing costs.
