Cool School of Dade County, inc. Is a not for profit organization established in 1996 in Miami beach and is funded by
a variety of public and private sources. Currently, its principal purpose was to combat gang recruitment of minors by
providing educational, recreational and social services to low income families and their children. The children
participate either on a voluntary basis or by recommendations from social service agencies. This is the second year
which the Miami Beach Police Department has made a financial contribution to the program from Confiscation Funds.
This Department has evaluated the program and found it to be an exceptionally well-managed and productive program
which provides needed mentoring for the students involved.
