2007 ASSESSMENT ROLL EST I TE
FROM:
DATE:
SUBJECT:
As required by Florida Statue, the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser advised us that
the 2007 Assessment Roll Estimate for the City of Miami Beach is $26,150,000,000. The
preliminary estimate is for budget planning purposes only. The official assessment will be
released on June 29, 2007.
This estimate represents an increase of 15% over the 2006 preliminary assessment of
$22,739,947,828. At this time, the estimate does not provide a break-out of new construction
or the Redevelopment District.
This estimate is an indicator of our continued strong economic growth during 2006.
However, the resulting impacts in available property tax revenues for FY 2007/08 remain
unknown given the pending discussions on property tax reform on-going in Tallahassee. We
will continue to keep you informed as these discussions progress over the next month.

RE: 2007 Assessment Roll Estimate
Dear Ms. Walker:
The following estimate is being provided in accordance with Chapter 200.065(7), Florida Statutes,
which states:
"The Property Appraiser shall deliver to the presiding officer of each taxing authority within the
County, June 1st, an estimate of the total assessed value of non-fjxempt property for the current
year for budget planning purposes. ~
The Certification of Taxable Value (Form DR-420) will be delivered to all taxing authorities on June 30th.
Receipt of these values on July 1 at initiates the statutory budget and millage calendar.
The month of June is the most active and concentrated period at the end of the assessment cycle in
terms of preparing the assessment roll for completion by July 1"t, As such, the projections used in
preparing the figure provided below represent the best estimate available for measuring the changes
taking effect during June.
