Setting Public Hearingfor Historic Preservation Designation
Page 2
The designation report for the proposed historic district has been presented to the Historic
Preservation Board and the Planning Board at separate public hearings. Following public input,
on August 10,2000 and September 8, 2000 the Historic Preservation Board determined that the
proposed district meets the required criteria and transmitted the recommendation for historic

development regulations in the proposed district. That companion ordinance is being prepared and
will be presented to the Commission concurrently with the public hearing for the designation.
The subject amendment requires an advertised notice of public hearing. Therefore, to enable the
City Commission to hold the public hearing on the proposed amendment in a timely manner at its
November 8, 2000 meeting, the Administration is requesting that the public hearing be set at this
time.
Based on the foregoing, the Administration recommends that the City Commission set the required
first reading public hearing regarding the proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map,
referenced above and more particularly set forth in the attached ordinance, for November 8, 2000
at 5:20 p.m.
