ANALYSIS (continued)
Weaknesses:
· Miami Beach golf courses compete for priority with some of the other courses managed by
PCM by virtue of their current relationships.
Kemper Sports Management
Strengths:
· Nationally recognized.
· Professionalism.
· Resources.
Weaknesses:
· No ties to local community.
· Company financial statement is not as sound as PCM.
Kevin Smith, Director of Parks and Recreation, conducted site evaluations of several local golf
courses, including one currently managed by PCM, Miami Shores Golf Course. His evaluation of this
course concluded the following:
Miami Shores Golf Course is a municipal/public course with memberships that is managed under a
lease agreement with PCM. It has an landscaped parking lot, entrance and club house. The services
employees were in uniforms with name tags, very courteous and customer friendly. The golf course
and grounds were, for the most part maintained at an adequate level for a facility of this nature.
However, the City of Miami Beach will be requiring a higher standard of maintenance and service
under the RFP requirements.
