A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROPRIATING
$2,498,367 FROM FUNDS GOVERNED BY THE
TOURIST AND CONVENTION CENTER
EXPANSION AUTHORITY (TCCEA) INTO AN
ESTABLISHED WORK ORDER NUMBER 2112
ENTITLED, "17TH STREET PARKING
GARAGE", FOR RENOVATION AND
IMPROVEMENT TO THE 17TH STREET
PARKING GARAGE.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to improve the facilities and condition of the 17th
Street Garage; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission have instructed the Parking Department to
move forward with upgrading the quality and condition of parking facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Tourist and Convention Center Expansion Authority has approved the use
of Convention Center funds for this project; and
WHEREAS, appropriations are required to cover expenditures for renovation and improving
off-street parking facilities; and
WHEREAS, the appropriation of funds requested herein will allow the Administration to
pay for renovation and improvement of the 17th Street Parking Garage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission approve the appropriation of monies from the Tourist and Convention Center
Expansion Authority, in the amount of $2,498,367, to be allocated to an established Work Order
Number 2112 entitled, "17th Street Parking Garage".

SUBJECT:
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission pass the attached Resolution.
BACKGROUND:
The Convention Center Expansion Authority Board approved the transfer of $3,127,000 to City
Work Order Number 2112 for the purpose of purchasing a revenue control system and renovating
the 17th street parking garage. The Commission previously approved transfer of $628,633
(Commission Resolution No. 95-21517).
The Administration requests transfer and appropriation of the balance of these funds from the
"Construction" trust account in order to provide necessary funds to commence work on the
renovation portion of this project.
CONCLUSION:
The appropriation and transfer of these funds should be approved.
