SUBJECT: Opening of the Washington Park/ RDA Dog Park
We are pleased to inform you that the Washington Park/ RDA dog park will open to the
public and their furry pals for off-leash fun on Wednesday, October 17, 2007.
Renovations made to the park to ensure it is K-9 user friendly include a double gate entry. .. . ,.
system to ensure dogs do not run outwhen the gate is open, new fencing, benches, dog bag - - ;~
dispensers, new landscaping and the planting of eight (8) new trees, tree trimming/ removal,
a human/ doggie drinking fountain, signage and pathways. ~"s.~ ,
The park will be opened and closed daily at 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. by a Parks & Recreation
Department team member. The opening date and hours of operation have been forwarded
to the Responsible Dog Owners organization so they can also get the word out that this
alternative to South Pointe Park is open and available for use.
