SUBJECT: Tatum Waterway Environmental Clean Up
The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you that the Neighborhood Services
Department is organizing an environmental cleanup event for Saturday, November 17, 2007,
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. along the banks of the Tatum Waterway.
The Office of Community Resource and Outreach is working with the City of Miami Beach
Parks and Recreation Department's Green Space Management Division, Public Works
Department's Sanitation Division, Police Department and Marine Patrol to coordinate efforts.
The volunteer effort will be coordinated through the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach
(ECOMB). Volunteers will remove litter and debris with special sensitivity to the mangroves
in the area. This is part of the City's ongoing commitment to preserve and maintain our open
spaces and provide volunteer opportunities for ourcommunity.
Volunteers will meet at 75'h Street and Dickens Avenue at the entrance to the Tatum
Waterway. It is anticipated that 50 volunteers from North Beach homeowners associations
and throughout the Miami Beach community will participate in this event. Volunteers may
register at ecombCa~ecomb.orq.
