A Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Cease Negotiations with American Riviera Real Estate
Company Relative to the Revised Settlement Agreement and to Proceed with a Quick Take of the
Ablon Parcel; and Further Authorizing the City Manager to Explore Other Parking Alternatives for
the Area.
Administration Recommendation: Adopt the Resolution.

ACTION: Discussion held. Resolution No. 2000-23466 adopted as amended. Motion made by
Commissioner Liebman to accept the Administration's recommendation to initiate the Quick Take
of the Ablon parcel process, including the property appraisal, and further authorizing the
Administration to continue with negotiations with American Riviera to see if an agreement can be
reached; seconded by Commissioner Bower; voice vote: 7-0. Vice-Mayor Smith to continue to be
involved in the negotiations. Christina Cuefro to handle.
Mayor Kasdin stated that if an agreement is reached that he wants a qualified expert to examine the
value of the non-monetary elements of the deal and report back to the Commission.
Commissioner Bower requested the Administration to identify possible parking solutions for the area.
