Scores are then tabulated in the following areas: originality, presentation, ability to communicate a message, artistic expression, technical competence, and overall strength. The festival puts together a montage of all the films submitted into the film competition. The winners are announced the day of the festival and their films are screened in their entirety. Films are awarded cash prizes in the following categories, Best picture, story, actor, actress, original music, videography, and cinematography. Special awards are given to films which demonstrate outstanding accomplishments. All filmmakers receive a certificate of participation.
